Learning Outcomes

This workshop series aims to introduce teachers to:

1. The basic types and structure of poems and songs
2. Some universal or recurrent themes relevant to young people and the world at large
3. The basic language and features of poems and songs that learners should know when in contact with poems and songs
4. Exemplar activities that aim to develop learners' appreciation of poems and songs, enhance their cultural awareness, and stimulate their imagination
5. 5. Other exemplar activities that aim to develop learners’ ability to write or speak creatively and critically, using some basic poetic features and diction covered in the Workshop Series
