What would you do to save the forests and why?

Our Forest plays a very important role in tackling global warming. We can carry out the 4R idea in our daily life, namely reduce, reuse, recycle and regenerate. Reducing the usage of paper is an efficient way to slow down deforestation. Being environmental-friendly and joining the afforestation projects, we can help plant more trees. Saving the forests means saving the world and saving ourselves.

Lee Yin Ting Wanetta | Maryknoll Convent School (Secondary Section)

Deforestation is a very serious problem that does harm to the environment. Soil erosion may lead to landslides which cause casualties. Additionally, there will be less space for wild animals to establish their habitats. Also, individuals can buy fewer wooden products and can recycle paper. Then, the demand for wood will drop and fewer trees will be knocked down. So, fewer forests will be damaged. We should be environmentally friendly and take actions to save the forests at once.

Ngai Pui Ming | Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College

Firstly, I would use both sides of a piece of paper because saving paper equals saving trees. Secondly, I would buy fewer wooden products. If fewer people consume the wooden products, merchants will produce fewer wooden goods. Therefore, fewer trees will be cut. Last but not least, we should spread the message of protecting the environment to others so that everyone in the world can contribute to saving the forests.
