Learning Outcomes
This workshop series aims to introduce teachers to:
- The basic types and structure of poems and songs
- Some universal or recurrent themes relevant to young people and the world at large
- The basic language and features of poems and songs that learners should know when in contact with poems and songs
- Exemplar activities that aim to develop learners' appreciation of poems and songs, enhance their cultural awareness, and stimulate their imagination
- Other exemplar activities that aim to develop learners’ ability to write or speak creatively and critically, using some basic poetic features and diction covered in the Workshop Series
