English Builder Enables a Student’s All-Rounded Development

In our school, English Builder is a resource of self-access learning, and was not counted as assignments in 2008-09. We request all junior form (S1 to 3) students to subscribe to it and complete the lessons regularly. The weekly progress report emailed by the system helps us to monitor students’ work progress.

For students who did not complete any lessons, we would notify their parents first through Student Handbooks. Then we would ask the students to stay after school and complete some exercises in the School Computer Room. A few students realised the exercises were easier than expected and helpful for their learning, and asked for permission to stay longer to complete other exercises on previous days.

We appreciate the thoughtful design of English Builder lessons. There are all-rounded exercises in reading, listening, sentence writing and speaking.

For listening, if students cannot hear the questions clearly, they can click a button to see the words. Besides, the company offers efficient technical support. Issues like student requests of password re-setting were fixed

There was once a promotional offer of free movie tickets. We posted the notice on boards of all classrooms to motivate students to complete more EB lessons. To achieve top results in English Builder, students need to work hard continuously. So English Builder can help students build up good habits and manage their time better. We congratulate Trevi Yeung of Class 3 to be one of the top achievers for Level 3 among all participating students in Hong Kong in 2008-09, which shows his continuous efforts and perseverance.
